Supporting young musicians is a big part of what we do at Townsville Brass, and the Youth Band is where that journey really begins. It’s a friendly, encouraging group where school‑age (or not so "school age") players can build confidence, learn new skills, and experience what it’s like to rehearse and perform as part of a real brass band.
The Youth Band gives developing players the chance to grow at their own pace while enjoying music with others their age. As players progress, many move into Brolga Brass and continue their musical pathway through the organisation.
All brass and percussion players of any age (but young at heart!) are welcome, whether they’re just getting started or already have some experience. Private tuition can also be arranged for those who want a little extra support along the way.
